Elisabeth Wright

Program Manager, International Defense Acquisition Resource Management Program

Elisabeth Wright is a member of the full time faculty of the School of International Graduate Studies at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. She is also the director of the International Defense Acquisition Resource Management Program within the school. She teaches and consults internationally in the area of defense acquisition resource management and decision making. Her areas of expertise are pre and post award contracting.

Prior to her faculty appointment in 2000, she was a member of the defense acquisition corps for fourteen years serving in various capacities including Director of Acquisition (Contracts & Procurement) at two major defense organizations in the Washington D.C area.

Elisabeth was a recipient of the White House fellowship for graduate studies and completed her doctoral work in Public Administration at the University of Southern California. Her areas of study focused on federal management systems and performance management and evaluation. She has her master’s degree from Florida Tech in acquisition and contracting and her undergraduate business degree from the University of Maryland.

She has authored and co-authored numerous publications related to defense acquisition, procurement and contracting and is an internationally recognized expert on the subject.
